CNA State Exam
The Oklahoma State CNA Exam is a comprehensive, two-part evaluation designed to measure a candidate’s mastery of the practical skills and knowledge needed to work as a nurse aide. Individuals who have completed a state-approved training program must pass both a clinical skills assessment and a written examination to be added to the Oklahoma Nurse Aide Registry. Successful completion of this exam typically grants the Long Term Care (LTC) or LTC/HHA (Home Health Aide) designations appropriate to your training.
Total Cost: $150 (Must be paid at the time of registration—no exceptions).
Structure & Format: Divided into two parts: a Skills Exam consisting of 4 mandatory skills (Vitals, Handwashing, Ambulation, Bed to Wheelchair Transfer) and 3 randomly selected skills; and a Knowledge Exam consisting of 70 multiple-choice questions (which may be required to be taken on your own fully charged device).
Passing Requirement: You must score a minimum of 70% on the Knowledge Exam and successfully pass the Skills Exam.
Time Limit & Facility Commitment: 45 minutes for the Skills Exam and 1 hour and 30 minutes for the Knowledge Exam; please be prepared to be at the testing facility for up to 3 hours total.
Retake Fee: $50 for the Knowledge Exam / $70 for the Skills Exam (you only have to retake the part you failed).
CMA State Exam
The Certified Medication Aide exam is an advanced credential evaluation that measures a candidate’s competency in safely passing and administering medications. Candidates must already hold a base certification, such as a Long Term Care Aide or Home Health Aide for six months of before testing. This assessment ensures that experienced aides are fully prepared and occupationally ready to manage medication classifications and safety standards in long-term care environments.
Total Cost: $50 paid at registration.
Structure & Format: A single-part exam consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions.
Passing Requirement: You must score a minimum of 70% to pass.
Time Limit & Facility Commitment: 1 hour (60 minutes) allowed to complete the test; please be prepared to be at the testing facility for at least 1.5 hours total.
Retake Fee: $50 for the exam retake.
ACMA Insulin State Exam
The Advanced Certified Medication Aide (ACMA) Insulin Exam is specifically designed for current CMAs seeking specialized certification in diabetes management and insulin administration. This exam tests your knowledge of proper techniques for blood glucose monitoring and safe insulin administration for stable residents in long-term care and assisted living settings. Passing this specialized assessment with an 80% or higher demonstrates your occupational readiness to provide advanced diabetic care.
Total Cost: $50 paid at registration.

Passing Requirement: You must score a minimum of 80% to pass.

Immediate Results: You will find out the day of your exam before you leave our testing center if you have passed or not.
Submitting to the State: To officially receive your advanced designation on the Oklahoma Nurse Aide Registry, you must independently mail your completed ODH Form 504 (Nurse Aide Registry Application for Advanced Training Certificate) along with the required $10 non-refundable certification fee directly to the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Online Verification: Once your application and fee have been processed by the state, you can verify your official certification on the state’s registry. Simply type in your first and last name to view your status. Typically, it takes about 1-2 weeks for your certification to show up after the state processes your paperwork.
